Past performance: defence, aviation, data centres and disaster relief

What we have actually done, in the sectors where the rules are strict and the building cannot simply be switched off. Client names are withheld where confidentiality applies – everything named here is released, and references are available on request.

Named where released, described where not

Most of our work sits behind a confidentiality agreement – on military installations, in data centres, in the security area of an airport. So this page does what a serious past performance list can do: it names the client where the name is released, and where it is not, it describes the site, the scope and the conditions precisely enough to be checked in a conversation.

References are available on request. For a specific bid we will put you in touch with the client contact, provide a written reference or arrange a site visit, once the client has agreed. We sign a confidentiality agreement before the first site visit as a matter of course, and we expect the same discretion to apply to our work for you.

What we do not do is put a logo wall on a website. If you find our name on a project, it is because someone released it.

Where we have worked

Six areas with documented projects. Each one has in common that access was controlled, the building stayed in use, or both.

Bundeswehr

Depots and maintenance facilities

A container facility supplied and fully fitted out at an ammunition depot, a second erected at a military training area, and a maintenance and repair stand for armoured vehicles built at an army maintenance facility.

US forces

Air bases in Germany

Deployments at Ramstein and Spangdahlem air bases, as a host-nation subcontractor to a prime contractor – with the access, escort and documentation process that comes with it.

Defence industry

Manufacturing plant

A steel platform built as an intermediate level in the works of an aviation manufacturer, and crane systems installed at a defence technology producer on behalf of a crane manufacturer.

Aviation

Frankfurt Airport security area

Emergency-stop installation on a sorting system, impact protection at loading docks and high-bay racking – all inside the security area, with the full notification and permit process.

Data centres

Ten documented projects

Standby generators up to 54 tonnes moved in, close-control unit replacement in live operation, transformers on push-beams, power distribution cabinets, load banks – and a spider crane extracted from a basement.

Disaster relief

Ahr valley flood, 2021

The complete power supply for a relief camp after the flood: around one kilometre of cable, the feed-in, sub-distribution and 63 A outlets. Work started within days of the request.

How to check any of this

Step 1

Tell us the bid

Which sector, which kind of scope, which client. That decides which of our references is actually comparable – a data centre generator move proves something different from a depot racking rebuild.

Step 2

We ask the client

Where a name is not yet released, we ask for release for your specific bid. Most clients agree when the request is concrete; some do not, and then we say so instead of using the name anyway.

Step 3

Contact, reference or site visit

You get a named contact, a written reference or – where it is possible – a visit to a finished job. Photographs and job reports are available for the projects published in our own project log.

Step 4

Documents alongside

Commercial register extract, liability insurance, clearance certificates, qualification records, turnover and headcount figures and our EHS standard, in English or German, usually the same day.

From our own project log

These are documented on our own site, in German, with photographs from the job. They are a small part of the work but they show the conditions we are used to.

What evaluators ask about references

Why are most client names missing?

Because they are covered by confidentiality agreements – military installations, data centre operators and airport clients almost always require one. We sign it before the first site visit. For a specific bid we ask the client for release, and where it is given we name them.

Can we speak to a reference client directly?

Yes, once that client has agreed. Tell us which sector and which kind of scope the bid covers and we will arrange the most comparable contact rather than the most flattering one.

Have you worked for the US forces directly?

Not as a prime. We have been on Ramstein and Spangdahlem as the host-nation subcontractor to a prime contractor. Our NCAGE code and SAM.gov registration are in progress; until they are complete a direct award in our own name is not possible.

Do you have experience on Bundeswehr installations?

Yes – a container facility supplied and fitted out at an ammunition depot, a second erected at a military training area, and a maintenance and repair stand for armoured vehicles at an army maintenance facility. Those contracts came to us as a subcontractor; we are not yet prequalified under VOB.

How large are the projects you handle?

From a single machine over a weekend to a camp for 500 people with its own power supply. In data centres we have moved standby generators of up to 54 tonnes and worked on installations up to 1 MW; in camps up to 250 kVA. The limit is usually the access route, not the weight.

Do you have photographs of the work?

For the jobs published in our own project log, yes – those are our own photographs, with third-party logos and plates removed. For confidential sites photography is usually prohibited and we respect that, which is why those jobs are described rather than shown.

What certifications do you hold?

We hold no management system certificates at present and do not claim any. What exists is our own EHS standard, completed security clearances for our fitters, qualification records for the trades, liability insurance and clearance certificates. The German VOB prequalification is in preparation.

Evaluating us for a specific bid?

Tell us the sector and the scope and you will get the comparable references, the documents and a site visit date – usually the same day.
