WE WELD WHERE THE PLANT STANDS
Omega Mounting builds working platforms, decks, stairs, railings and special steel structures – designed and fabricated in our own metalwork shop in Rodgau, installed and welded directly at the customer site.
The decisive part usually happens on site. A component can be prefabricated, the fit to the real plant cannot: dimensions differ, surfaces are uneven, systems grown over the years rarely match the drawing. Anyone who can only weld in the workshop comes to a halt at that point.
That is why on-site welding is our core competence – from repair welding on damaged plant and TIG welding on load-bearing parts to working alongside live operations, with extraction, screening and work permits.

FOUR REASONS WHY OUR WELDING COUNTS
Repair welding on the plant
Cracked welds, worn bearing seats, distorted structures: we cut out the damage, re-weld and restore the load capacity – instead of replacing the whole assembly.
TIG on load-bearing parts
Where weld quality matters, we use TIG – for example on rails, curves and supporting structures carrying loads and hundreds of thousands of load cycles.
Welding during live operations
Alongside production, in hygiene areas and in restricted zones: with extraction, screening, fire watch and work permits. That keeps the operation running while we work.
Documented for the inspection
We record the work, the material and the findings in photos and in writing – so the competent person or inspector can sign off on a sound basis.

Custom fabrication to measure
Fitting pieces, reinforcement plates, impact protection, adapters: whatever no longer exists or never did is made in our metalwork shop – up to 10 mm wall thickness in impact protection.

We take the measurements on site and design from those – not from a drawing describing how things looked twenty years ago.

EVERY INDUSTRY HAS ITS OWN RHYTHM
Welding on a running plant follows different rules than welding in the workshop. Knowing both makes for realistic planning.
The weekend window
Production on two or three shifts, downtime only at weekends. The window is fixed – what fits into it is decided in advance.
The hot work permit
Here it is not the clock that decides but the permit. Extraction, screening, fire watch and the work permit determine when welding is allowed – and for how long.
The night between two peaks
Sorting and loading equipment runs at its limit seasonally. Repairs happen at night, at weekends or alongside operations – and before the peak season, not in the middle of it.

Do you also weld directly on the plant, not just in the workshop?
Yes, and that is the core of our work. A lot can be prefabricated, the fit to the real plant cannot: dimensions differ, surfaces are uneven, systems grown over the years rarely match the drawing. We cut out cracks, re-weld, add reinforcements and straighten distortion – right where the plant stands.
Can you weld while production is running?
Often yes, with the appropriate measures: extraction, screening off the production area, a fire watch and a hot work permit. In hygiene and security areas we agree this with those responsible beforehand. Where a permit cannot be obtained, we move the work into a window – but then fully prepared.
Which welding processes do you use?
Mainly MAG for structural and repair work and TIG where weld quality matters – for example on rails, curves and supporting structures carrying loads and hundreds of thousands of load cycles. Which process makes sense is decided by the material, the accessibility and the stresses involved.
Do you design and fabricate the components yourselves?
Yes. We take the measurements on site, design from them and fabricate in our metalwork shop in Rodgau – with welding equipment and a milling machine. That removes the supplier everyone else would be waiting on, and adjustments are possible at short notice instead of triggering a new order.
Do you also build working platforms for maintaining existing plant?
Yes, that is a frequent reason for calling us. Often maintenance only becomes permissible and economical once there is safe, permanent access. We build platforms, decks, stairs and railings to measure – adapted to the existing structure rather than a catalogue product that does not fit.
Do I get documentation for the inspection?
Yes. We record the work, the material and the findings in photos and in writing so your competent person or inspector can sign off on a sound basis. The formal inspection itself is theirs to carry out – we supply what they need for it.
