INDUSTRIAL INSTALLATION FOR AIRPORTS & SECURITY AREAS
For most installation companies the job ends at the security checkpoint. For us it begins there – with our own fitters, security cleared under German aviation security law.

- What it is about
IN A SECURITY AREA, WHO IS ALLOWED IN COMES FIRST
Omega Mounting installs, maintains and repairs conveying, sorting and security systems at airports and in other restricted areas. Our fitters have passed the background check required under German aviation security law – they get through the checkpoint without a permanent escort and stand at the machine instead of waiting at the gate.
It sounds like a formality, but it determines the schedule. Anyone who has to register, escort and sign out every tradesman individually loses half a day before the first spanner is picked up. And the more companies involved, the more often exactly that happens.
That is why, in restricted areas, we take on as many trades as possible ourselves – mechanics, electrics, welding and, where needed, plumbing and air conditioning too.
- Why us
FOUR REASONS WHY SECURITY AREAS CALL US IN
Fitters with aviation security clearance
Our people are security cleared and permitted inside the restricted zone. No permanent escort, no waiting at the gate, no half day lost to registrations.
All trades from one source
In a restricted area every additional company counts double. For a security facility in the Taunus we were booked only to position the containers – in the end we also took on the plumbing, power and air conditioning.
Ongoing support during live sorter operations
At Frankfurt Airport we look after a shoe sorter running 24/6 with several mechatronics engineers on site. Fault, diagnosis, repair – with no travel time and no waiting.
Baggage & cargo handling systems
Take-away conveyors, ULD handling systems, drive stations, tilt trays: we know the equipment the operation runs on – from maintenance, repair and conversion work.
- Services
WHAT WE TAKE ON AT AIRPORTS AND IN RESTRICTED AREAS
From a single fault on the sorter to complete infrastructure inside the restricted zone – mechanics, electrics and welding from one team.
Baggage & cargo handling systems
Servicing take-away conveyors and ULD equipment, overhauling drive stations, finding wear before failure – including dry ice blasting where conventional cleaning is not possible.
Sortiertechnik & Sorterbetreuung
Shoe sorters, tilt trays and distribution systems: fault clearance, wear part replacement and permanent support in shift operation with our own team on site.
Not-Aus- & Sicherheitstechnik
Retrofitting and extending emergency stop buttons, sensors and safety devices – on a sorting system at Frankfurt Airport that meant 32 emergency stops in two days.
Perimeter- & Zaunanlagen
Repairing and upgrading security fencing: replacing damaged panels, straightening posts, closing gaps – where the perimeter is what counts.
Anfahrschutz & Stahlbau
Impact protection from square tube with a 10 mm wall thickness, platforms, stairs and landings: designed, manufactured and installed where tugs and dollies would otherwise keep damaging the equipment.
Raummodule & Infrastruktur
Setting up container facilities and making them fully usable – plumbing, fresh water with trace heating, power and air conditioning included. One point of contact instead of five companies with access problems.
- Industry comparison
EVERY INDUSTRY HAS ITS OWN RHYTHM
A maintenance window at an airport follows different rules from one in a factory. Knowing both means planning realistically.
The weekend window
Production on two or three shifts, downtime only at weekends. The window is fixed – what fits into it is decided in advance.
The operation that never closes
There is no real shutdown window, only permits, restricted zones and night hours with less traffic. Anyone working here has to be security cleared and able to work with an escort.
The night between two peaks
Sorting and loading equipment runs at its limit seasonally. Repairs happen at night, at weekends or alongside operations – and before the peak season, not in the middle of it.

Impact protection that spreads the force into the surface
Tugs with dollies had damaged the take-away rollers of the castor deck. Square tube with a 10 mm wall thickness, welded-in corners acting as run-up ramps – bolted rather than welded, so it can be replaced.

Are your fitters security cleared for the restricted area?
Yes. Our fitters have passed the background check required under German aviation security law and are permitted to enter the restricted area. For work on other sensitive sites we bring the clearances required there as well. That saves you the permanent escort and the time lost by every uncleared contractor.
Can you support a system permanently, not just handle individual jobs?
Yes. At Frankfurt Airport we look after a shoe sorter running 24/6 with several mechatronics engineers on site. Faults are picked up immediately, wear parts replaced and recurring causes eliminated instead of being fixed again each time. We set up support arrangements like this for other systems too.
Do you work during live airport operations?
Yes – there is usually no other way, because an airport does not close. We work in cordoned-off areas, on isolated sections and during quiet night hours, coordinated with the operator. Where a system has to stop completely, we plan the window as short as possible and prepare everything that can be prepared.
Do you take on trades beyond installation itself?
Yes, and in a restricted area that is often the real advantage. For a security service’s container facility we were originally booked only to position the units – in the end we also took on plumbing, frost-protected fresh water, the power connection and air conditioning. Fewer companies inside the restricted zone means fewer registrations, less escorting and one point of contact for the result.
How quickly can you be on site when there is a fault?
We can be reached at any time by WhatsApp and phone and are usually on site within a day in the Rhine-Main region. Where we support a system permanently, the team is on the premises anyway – and then response time counts in minutes rather than hours.
Which locations do you work at?
We are based in Rodgau near Frankfurt, with our focus on Frankfurt Airport and the Rhine-Main region. We have also worked at Kassel Airport and on a military site in the Taunus, among others. For larger projects we travel throughout Germany.
