Omega Mounting GmbH: capability statement for defence and government work in Germany

Everything a contracting officer, a DPW project engineer or a prime contractor’s subcontract manager needs in one place: who we are, what we do, what we have done, how we can be engaged today – and what is still in progress.

Who you are dealing with

Omega Mounting GmbH is an owner-managed industrial installation contractor in Rodgau, 30 kilometres from Frankfurt and 55 from Wiesbaden. Founded in 2012. Managing Director Tobias Schott. Core crew of 15 own fitters, scaled to 30 to 40 at short notice through long-standing subcontractors. Mechanical, electrical, control systems, welding and lifting are all in house, together with our own metalwork shop – so a missing adapter or bracket is manufactured rather than waited for.

Registration status, stated plainly. Our NCAGE code and SAM.gov registration with a Unique Entity ID are in progress. Until they are complete we cannot take a direct award or a simplified acquisition order in our own name, and we say so rather than letting a contracting officer find out later. Today we reach US installations as the host-nation subcontractor to a prime contractor – which is how we have worked at Ramstein and Spangdahlem. We also do not yet hold the German VOB prequalification; it is in preparation, so for German public tenders we submit the suitability evidence individually.

Intended NAICS codes: 238290 other building equipment contractors · 238120 structural steel and precast concrete contractors · 811310 commercial and industrial machinery and equipment repair and maintenance · 561210 facilities support services.

Documents available on request: commercial register extract, liability insurance certificate, tax and social insurance clearance certificates, employers’ liability insurance association records, qualification records, three years of turnover and headcount figures, reference list, and our own EHS standard. The required security clearances for our fitters are complete and on file. We do not hold a formal German government facility security clearance; documents marked for restricted use are treated as confidential and not passed on.

What we deliver

Everything below is work we do with our own crews. Where a trade is not ours – larger network installations, sanitary work, tents – we say so and bring in a named partner.

Installation

Mechanical installation

Machinery and plant installed in new build and inside operating buildings, up to mechanical completion: positioned, aligned, levelled, anchored, connected, records signed.

Lift and shift

Heavy moves and rigging

Own lifting equipment, written lift plans and a named appointed person for lifting operations. Standby generators up to 54 tonnes moved into live buildings.

Standby power

Generators, UPS, fuel

Gensets, standby power systems, UPS and refuelling technology moved in, installed, serviced and replaced. Own 110 kVA unit for smaller requirements, larger sets hired in.

Storage

Racking and materials handling

High-bay racking, racking repair after impact damage, automated storage units, paternosters, conveyors, sorting systems and loading ramps – the depot and warehouse trade.

Steelwork

Platforms, stairs, protection

Mezzanines, working platforms, walkways, stairs and impact protection, with bespoke parts from our own workshop when no catalogue item fits.

Camps

Container and camp infrastructure

Containers, power, water, sanitation, network and air conditioning; camps for up to 500 people, in Germany and abroad, up to 250 kVA on site. Tents through our sister company.

Four routes that work today

Route 1

Subcontract to a prime

The route we use most. Your prime contractor brings us in as the host-nation subcontractor; we work to your statement of work or performance work statement, in English, and invoice the prime.

Route 2

Through the German construction administration

Construction on US property in Germany is let by the federal construction administration – in Hesse the LBIH military construction division – in German and under VOB/A. There we can be approached directly.

Route 3

Through the Bundeswehr service centre

On Bundeswehr installations the local BwDLZ lets installation support, maintenance and minor works, under the federal infrastructure agency BAIUDBw – by direct award, restricted tender or framework agreement.

Route 4

Direct award once registration is complete

Once NCAGE and SAM.gov are in place, simplified acquisition orders from a garrison contracting office become possible in our own name. Until then we say no to that route rather than promise it.

Sectors and installations

Each of the pages below describes one sector in detail – what we do there, how the work is let, and what we can prove.

What contracting officers and primes ask first

Are you registered in SAM.gov?

Not yet. Our NCAGE code and SAM.gov registration with a Unique Entity ID are in progress. Until they are complete we cannot accept a direct award or a simplified acquisition order in our own name. We work as the host-nation subcontractor to a prime contractor, which is how we have been on Ramstein and Spangdahlem, and we will update this page the day the numbers exist.

How do we get you on post?

A base access request submitted with lead time – names, dates of birth and vehicle plates – badging through the visitor control centre, escorted access where the site requires it, and the operator’s site induction. Depending on the task we also provide a method statement and risk assessment beforehand and obtain permits, for example for hot work.

Do you work in English?

Yes. Method statements, risk assessments, permits, toolbox talks, daily reports and handover documentation are produced in English or German, in your template if you have one. Our fitters work in English on site.

What insurance and documents can you show?

Commercial register extract, liability insurance certificate, tax and social insurance clearance certificates, qualification records, three years of turnover and headcount figures, a reference list and our own EHS standard. All on request, usually the same day.

Are your people security cleared?

The required security clearances for our fitters are complete and on file. Access-controlled environments are routine for us – the security area of Frankfurt Airport, data centres with escorted access, chemical and pharmaceutical parks and a nuclear facility. We do not hold a formal German government facility security clearance.

How fast can you respond?

Rodgau is 30 km from Frankfurt and 55 from Wiesbaden, so most installations in the region are within about an hour’s drive. For clients we already work with, emergency call-outs are usually on site within hours. A binding date for planned work comes after the site visit.

What do you not do?

Weapons, ammunition and effector technology. Engineering and design. Fire suppression system installation. Work inside the rail track area. Security guarding. We install and maintain the plant – we say where the line is rather than finding out on site.

Need the statement as a PDF?

The company profile is linked above. For anything else – a reference list, insurance certificates, a site visit – call or write, and you will have it the same day.
