MACHINE RELOCATION: DISMANTLE, RELOCATE, RESTART

A machine has not moved when it stands at the new site – only when it runs there again. That is exactly why we take on the whole chain.

THE MOVE DOES NOT END AT THE LOADING RAMP

In machine relocations there is one point where most projects get expensive: the handover. One company dismantles, the next transports, the third reassembles – and if something is missing or does not fit at the end, nobody is responsible. We are an installation company that takes on the whole chain ourselves: dismantling, transporting, reassembling, connecting and restarting.

The decisive part happens during dismantling. We label assemblies, photograph installed positions, mark up cables and lines and sort small parts. That turns reassembly into installation to plan rather than guesswork – and that is exactly what separates a machine relocation from a transport job.

And because both buildings are rarely easy to access, we bring our own lifting equipment for both ends: out of the old building and into the new one.

For a machine relocation you do not need a haulage firm but an installation company: industrial fitters who dismantle the machine, secure it, transport it, set it up again and restart it. Depending on the scope, an installation team of mechanics, electricians and welders comes along – with our own lifting equipment, our own machine transporter and a fixed contact from the first appointment to acceptance.

FOUR REASONS WHY COMPANIES CALL US IN

Dismantle, relocate, restart – all done by us

No handover point where responsibility gets lost. One company answers for the machine running again at the new site – not just for it arriving there.

Documented dismantling

Labelling, photographing, marking up cables and lines, sorting small parts. An hour spent during dismantling saves days during reassembly – and stops parts going missing at the end.

In and out where space is tight

Our own lifting equipment for both ends: mini and spider cranes get the machine out of the basement too and take it where no mobile crane can reach.

Across borders too

Site relocations have taken us to Italy, France and Luxembourg, among others. English as the project language and documentation to the client’s specification go without saying.

WHAT WE TAKE ON IN A MACHINE RELOCATION

From the survey at the old site to the trial run at the new one – one contact for the whole chain, from a single machine to a complete industrial relocation.

Survey & relocation concept

Walking both sites, recording dimensions, weights, routes and utility connections, defining how far to dismantle and in what order. The concept is drawn up before the first spanner is picked up.

Dismantling with documentation

Dismantling with reassembly in mind: labelled, photographed, marked up, small parts sorted and assemblies secured for transport.

Removal & moving in

Out of the old building and into the new one with our own lifting equipment – along existing routes, including out of basements and tight service corridors.

Transport organised

Machine transport with load securing, suitable vehicles and coordinated dates – matched to the dismantling so that what is needed arrives at the destination in the right order.

Reassembly & alignment

Positioning, levelling, anchoring, linking: at the new site the plant is rebuilt from the dismantling documentation – without searching or guessing.

Connection & commissioning

Installation up to the main switch, utilities connected, sensors and end positions adjusted, test run supervised. The relocation ends when the machine is producing.

THREE TYPES OF MACHINE RELOCATION

The effort depends less on the size of the machine than on distance and accessibility. We clarify both in advance at each site.

In-plant

New place, same hall

Change of site

From hall to hall

The most common case: dismantle, transport, reassemble and commission. Here the documentation done during dismantling determines the pace and cost at the destination.

Abroad

Across the border

More planning, longer distances, different regulations – and English as the project language. Jobs have taken us to Italy, France and Luxembourg, among others.

HOW A MACHINE RELOCATION RUNS

01BOTH SITESWalking the old and new locations: dimensions, weights, routes, floor loadings and utility connections. The destination has a say in how far things are dismantled.
02DISMANTLING TO PLANHaving the power isolated, draining utilities, dismantling – labelled, photographed, marked up and secured for transport.
03TRANSPORTMoving out with our own lifting equipment, securing the load, coordinating the journey and scheduling – in the order in which things will be built at the destination.
04REASSEMBLY & START-UPMoving in, positioning, levelling, linking, connecting, adjusting and supervising the test run – until the machine is producing again.

Machine relocation in your town – and relocation as a project

For the individual machine in the Rhine-Main region we have local pages with travel times and documented jobs. When a line, a hall or an entire machine park moves, we plan it as a relocation project – as plant relocation, factory relocation or a complete site relocation.

MACHINE RELOCATION: STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Do you handle the transport as well, or only dismantling and reassembly?

We take on the whole chain and coordinate the transport as well. That is exactly where the problems otherwise arise: when dismantling, haulage and reassembly are spread across three companies, responsibility gets lost at the handover points. With us, one company is accountable for the machine running again at the new site. A conventional removal company stops at the loading ramp – with a production machine, that is where the work really begins.

How do you make sure nothing is missing during reassembly?

Through the documentation done during dismantling. We label assemblies, photograph installed positions, mark up cables and lines and assign small parts to their assemblies. That turns reassembly into installation to plan. An extra hour during dismantling regularly saves days at the destination.

What if no crane can reach the new site?

That is the rule rather than the exception, and we are set up for it. We bring our own lifting equipment for both ends – mini cranes and spider cranes fit through ordinary doors. Where even that is not enough, we keep dismantling until the assemblies fit through the opening that exists.

Can you move a machine within the same hall?

Yes, and often within a single weekend. We lift, move across the existing floor – whose load capacity we check beforehand – realign, anchor and recommission. There is no transport route outside, which cuts time and cost considerably.

Do you handle relocations abroad as well?

Yes. Jobs have taken us to Italy, France and Luxembourg, among others. English as the project language goes without saying, as does documentation to the client’s requirements. For projects abroad we allow more lead time, because routes, approvals and regulations need more coordination.

How long does it take to move a machine?

That depends on how far it has to be dismantled, the distance and the accessibility – not on the size of the machine alone. Moving within a plant is often a weekend; a change of site takes anything from days to weeks depending on the plant. After walking both sites you get a sound schedule instead of an estimate.

It is not just one machine moving, but the whole operation? Then factory relocation or site relocation is the right keyword: machinery relocation, warehouse technology and high-bay racking, clearance and reassembly at the new site – from a single source.
