INDUSTRIAL INSTALLATION FOR ENERGY & STANDBY POWER

A standby power system is needed on exactly one day – and that day cannot be planned. We install, maintain and repair it so that this day passes without consequences.

STANDBY POWER IS THE SYSTEM THAT MUST NEVER FAIL

Omega Mounting installs, maintains and repairs standby power systems, generators and the associated exhaust and load equipment – in new builds as much as on systems that have long been in service. What sets this apart from other installation work is the standard: a standby power system does not have to work most of the time, but in the one moment when everything else has failed.

That shapes how we work. Work happens on the redundant string while the other one keeps the supply up. Every intervention ends with a test run under load, not a tick on a delivery note. And when the redundancy disappears at ten at night, we set off – a generator replacement that started on a Sunday evening in Dietzenbach is documented in our job diary, not just claimed.

From a 3 MW generator to a 54-tonne containerised standby unit: we get the equipment in even when the building has long been finished.

Two topics now have their own pages: the maintenance of standby power systems – oil change, filter change, cooling system, AdBlue and SCR system, fuel system with day tank, exhaust system right up to the unit's exhaust stack, load test with loadbank – and the moving in and installation of transformers via skid rails, machine skates or crane, including moving out of the basement. When a generator set is moved in, the complete exhaust run with silencer, SCR catalyst, expansion joints and stack connection is part of the job, as are the day tank and fuel lines – mechanically complete, for data centers and industrial plants.

FOUR REASONS WHY OPERATORS CALL US IN

Emergency call-out around the clock

When the redundancy is gone, every hour counts. We do not offer you an appointment for Monday – we set off, as documented by a standby generator replacement that began on a Sunday evening.

Repair instead of replace

A leaking radiator is no reason to replace a generator. We repair it and sign the work off with a pressure test – saving five-figure sums and months of lead time.

Exhaust & silencer systems

26 SCR systems mounted on frames, 12 twin turbo silencers fitted – some of them above running generators. A trade that comes up in every new build and that hardly anyone takes on in full.

Heavy loads into finished buildings

Load banks and generators moved in with a 220 t mobile crane, 16 t lifts carried out inside existing buildings. With our own lifting equipment we get to places no crane can reach.

WHAT WE TAKE ON IN ENERGY & STANDBY POWER

From servicing an existing standby power system to a complete installation including exhaust equipment and load testing – mechanics, welding and electrics from one team.

Installing standby power systems

Positioning, aligning and connecting generators up to 3 MW – installed indoors or as containerised units. The heaviest container solution we have lifted weighed 54 tonnes.

Generator servicing & repair

Servicing standby power systems to the manufacturer’s specification, repairing coolers and radiators with pressure testing, repair instead of replacement wherever technically sound.

Exhaust & silencer systems

Installing, frame-mounting and pipework for SCR systems and turbo silencers – including above running generators, with the necessary safeguarding and permits.

Loadbanks & load tests

Moving in, positioning and connecting load banks, supervising test runs under realistic load – so the proof is more than paperwork.

Heavy lifting & moving in

Moving in with a 220 t mobile crane, lifts up to 16 t inside existing buildings, transport through tight passages and finished buildings – with our own lifting equipment instead of hired improvisation.

Manufacturer-independent procurement

We work with a broad network of generator suppliers. For you that means the right machine for the job, not the one from a particular manufacturer.

EVERY INDUSTRY HAS ITS OWN RHYTHM

A maintenance window on a standby power system follows different rules from one in a factory. Knowing both means planning realistically.

Automotive & Mechanical Engineering

The weekend window

Production on two or three shifts, downtime only at weekends. The window is fixed – what fits into it is decided in advance.

Energy & standby power

The window that must not exist

The system has to stay available while work is done on it. So we work on the redundant string, in coordinated steps – and every intervention ends with a test run.

Logistics & intralogistics

The night between two peaks

Sorting and loading equipment runs at its limit seasonally. Repairs happen at night, at weekends or alongside operations – and before the peak season, not in the middle of it.

HOW A JOB ON THE STANDBY POWER SYSTEM SUCCEEDS

01SITE WALKReviewing the system and its redundancy concept, going through the maintenance history, clarifying access and load paths for heavy components.
02PREPARATIONProcuring parts and machinery, specifying lifting equipment, agreeing changeover and permits with the operator.
03DELIVERYWork happens on the released string while the other keeps the supply up – in coordinated, reversible steps.
04HANDOVERTest run under realistic load, measurements and photo documentation, report – and the findings for the next service.

PROJECTS FROM ENERGY & STANDBY POWER

ENERGY & STANDBY POWER: ANSWERED DIRECTLY

Can you work on the standby power system without losing redundancy?

As a rule, yes. We work on the released string while the other keeps the supply up, and proceed in steps that can be reversed at any time. Where an intervention does affect the whole system, we plan the window as short as possible, prepare everything and agree the changeover with you beforehand.

How quickly can you be on site in an emergency?

We can be reached at any time by WhatsApp and phone – weekends included. In the Rhine-Main region we are usually on site within a few hours. A standby generator replacement in Dietzenbach began on a Sunday evening, because the redundancy was gone and nobody wanted to wait until Monday.

Is it worth repairing a generator or should it be replaced?

That is decided by the findings, not the calendar. A leaking radiator, a defective cooler or a cracked bracket can be repaired – we carry out the repair and sign off the work with a pressure test. Only when core components are at the end of their life or spare parts are no longer available does replacement become economical. We tell you openly where the line lies. If the system is out of service for the duration of the repair, our sister company Eventwerk Rodgau hires out mobile generator sets from 2 to 110 kVA to bridge the gap.

How large can the generator and standby power system be?

The largest generator we have installed was 3 MW, and the heaviest containerised unit we have lifted weighed 54 tonnes. Depending on the situation we use mobile cranes up to 220 t or our own lifting equipment to move them in – the latter especially where the building is finished and no crane can reach inside.

Do you handle the exhaust and silencer systems as well?

Yes, that is one of our specialities. We have frame-mounted and installed 26 SCR systems and fitted 12 twin turbo silencers, some of them above running generators. That includes the steel structure, the pipework and coordination with the adjacent trades.

Are you tied to one generator manufacturer?

No. We work with a broad network of generator suppliers and install independently of manufacturer. For you that means you get the machine that suits your case and your schedule – and for maintenance and repair, a contact who knows more than one brand.
