Project report: installation of 32 StopTruck® systems at a logistics centre near Leipzig
Complete installation of truck restraint systems including electrical installation & commissioning – all from a single source
Safety in loading zones plays a crucial role in modern logistics centres. Trucks rolling away uncontrollably during loading and unloading can have serious consequences – for people, goods and operations. That is why more and more companies are turning to modern vehicle restraint systems such as the StopTruck® systems from Expresso.
For an internationally active manufacturer from the consumer goods industry in the Leipzig area, Omega Mounting took on the complete installation of 32 StopTruck® systems. The scope of work ranged from mechanical installation to electrical commissioning – a prime example of the professional installation of truck restraint systems in logistics.

A fast project start thanks to a strong team
The installation crew in action
On projects of this scale, one thing matters above all: a structured project workflow.
To achieve visible results early and support the construction schedule as effectively as possible, Omega Mounting started the first project week with an eight-person installation team consisting of mechatronics technicians, mechanics and electricians on site.
Once the main installation was complete, the team was deliberately reduced. A well-coordinated team of three then took over the final installation work, detailed electrical work and preparation for commissioning.
This approach allowed the project to be delivered economically and on schedule.
All services under one roof
Installation of the StopTruck® systems
A major advantage for our client was the integrated project delivery.
Omega Mounting not only handled the mechanical installation of the StopTruck® systems, but also carried out all electrical work itself.
- Our scope of services included, among other things:
- Installation of 32 StopTruck® systems / vehicle restraint systems
- Installation of hydraulic power units
- Installation of traffic light systems and safety equipment
- Installation of 32 control desks
- Installation and electrical wiring of all control cabinets
- Installation of all required cable routes
- Proper connection and wiring of the systems
- Electrical installation including control cabinet connections
- Support with commissioning together with Expresso
Precision at every single loading point
Installation of the individual StopTruck® systems
Each of the 32 loading points had to be prepared individually and installed with precision.
The StopTruck® systems were aligned with millimetre precision, mechanically fixed and then connected to the respective hydraulic power units, control desks and traffic light systems as well as the signalling equipment.
At the same time, our electricians installed all supply cables and professionally wired the control systems.
Neat cable routing and installation in accordance with standards were a matter of course – because these systems must function reliably over the long term, especially in day-to-day logistics operations.
Mechanical and electrical engineering perfectly combined
A major advantage for our client was that Omega Mounting was able to handle both the mechanical installation and the complete electrical installation.
Our fitters installed all cables, mounted the control cabinets, wired the systems and made all electrical connections professionally.
This meant no additional electrical contractors had to be coordinated – a real time and cost advantage on projects of this scale.
Successful commissioning together with Expresso
After all installation and electrical work was completed, the joint commissioning took place with our client, Expresso.
All StopTruck® systems were inspected, tested and successfully put into operation. Thanks to the close collaboration, any necessary adjustments could be made directly on site.
The result: a modern loading facility with 32 fully installed and operational vehicle restraint systems, ensuring maximum safety in day-to-day logistics operations. The facility was handed over to the operator on schedule.

A trained mechatronics technician, at home in maintenance, servicing and industrial installation since 2004 – first alongside his father, and since 2012 with Omega Mounting: from the overhead conveyor in Frankfurt to the crane system in a new-build hall. As appointed person for lifting operations, he plans and leads lifting operations in data centers and on industrial sites in the Rhine-Main region, is an instructor and examiner for cranes, aerial work platforms and telehandlers, and a safety officer. On assignments abroad he is known as the "German Troubleshooter" – the one you call when things get stuck on site. He did not learn what quality means from a manual, but from his father: Made in Germany as a standard for his own work, not as a label. That is why quality comes first at Omega Mounting – before speed and before price. The project diary shows the jobs his team has planned and carried out – without customer names, but with everything that can be learned from them.
